We recently had the pleasure of discovering Picton, New Zealand, a charming town nestled at the gateway to the breathtaking Marlborough Sounds.

Our adventure in Picton was filled with natural beauty, thrilling activities, and cozy accommodations, making it a must-visit destination for any traveler.

Our first stop was the Marlborough Sounds, a stunning labyrinth of waterways and lush landscapes. We took a scenic cruise with Cougar Line, which operates daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The boat ride offered panoramic views of the intricate waterways, with opportunities to spot wildlife like dolphins and seals. Tickets are priced around NZD 65 per adult. The serene beauty of the Sounds left us in awe, and we spent hours snapping photos and soaking in the tranquility.

<h3>2. Queen Charlotte Track </h3>

Next on our itinerary was the Queen Charlotte Track, a renowned hiking trail that winds through lush forests and along rugged coastlines. We embarked on a day hike, and the views were absolutely spectacular. The track is open year-round, but we visited during the warmer months for the best experience. Access to the track is free, though some guided tours and shuttle services cost around NZD 120 per person. One of the highlights of our trip was dolphin watching with Dolphin Watch Eco Tours. The tours operate daily from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM and provide a chance to see playful dolphins up close. The experience was both exhilarating and educational. Tickets are priced at around NZD 150 per adult, and the knowledgeable guides made the experience even more memorable.

For a comfortable stay, we chose The Royal Picton Hotel, conveniently located near the waterfront and key attractions. With rates starting at NZD 150 per night for a standard room, the hotel offered cozy accommodations with stunning views of the harbor. The friendly staff and excellent amenities made our stay enjoyable and relaxing.
