Malta is the ultimate destination for such an adventure. Recently, we embarked on a journey to this charming island, and it was nothing short of extraordinary.

Our first stop was the ancient city of Mdina. Known as the "Silent City," Mdina's narrow streets and medieval architecture create an almost magical atmosphere. We spent hours wandering through its quiet alleyways and enjoying panoramic views from the bastions. Mdina is open year-round, but it's best to visit in the morning to avoid crowds. Entry is free, but if you’re interested in the Mdina Dungeons, tickets are around €7.50.

From Mdina, we headed to the Blue Lagoon on Comino Island. The turquoise waters and pristine beaches here are ideal for a day of relaxation. We took a ferry from Cirkewwa, costing about €15 round trip. The lagoon is accessible from 9 AM to 5 PM, but get there early to secure a good spot and avoid the afternoon rush.

No visit to Malta would be complete without exploring Valletta. This vibrant capital is full of history and culture. The Grand Harbour offers breathtaking views, and a stroll through the Lower Barracca Gardens is a must. For a deeper dive into Maltese history, the National Museum of Archaeology, open daily from 9 AM to 6 PM, charges €10 for entry.

To make the most of our stay, we chose to stay at The Phoenicia Malta, a luxurious hotel conveniently located near Valletta. The Phoenicia offers stunning views of the harbor, elegant rooms, and excellent service. Rates start at approximately €250 per night, including breakfast.

Dining in Malta is a delightful experience. We savored traditional Maltese dishes like pastizzi, flaky pastries filled with ricotta or peas, which cost around €1.50 each from local bakeries. For a heartier meal, we visited a local restaurant and enjoyed rabbit stew, a Maltese specialty, priced at about €15. Don’t miss out on trying a glass of local drinks, which is both affordable and excellent.
