<b>By Plane:</b> The closest airports to Hintersee are Munich International Airport and Salzburg Airport in Austria. From either airport, renting a car provides the most flexibility for exploring the area.

<b>By Car:</b> From Munich, follow the A8 motorway towards Salzburg. Take the exit at Traunstein-Siegsdorf and then continue on the B305 federal road towards Ramsau. This route will lead you directly to Hintersee.

<h3>Where to park the car at Hintersee in Ramsau?</h3>

You can park your car directly at Hintersee in Ramsau by following the parking signs.

-The daily parking fee ranges from 5 to 8 euros, and you can pay by card at the parking machines.

-P1 is located right by the magic forest, and we suggest using it if you want to explore the forest and part of the lake route.

-For a more straightforward return, we recommend driving a bit further to parking lot 3, which is almost on the opposite side of Hintersee. This can make your visit more convenient and enjoyable.

<h3>Renting boats and swimming</h3>

During the summer months, you can enjoy a small electric boat ride at Hintersee in Ramsau. This boat takes you across the lake, and upon request, you can also arrange a tour around the lake.

The cost for crossing the lake is €2 for adults and €1 for children.

On the opposite shore, there's a pier where you can rent various types of boats to explore further.

It's a traditional Bavarian guesthouse offering beautifully furnished double rooms and apartments, situated on a stunning mountain viewpoint. They have a restaurant serving delicious traditional dishes, and the price includes a hearty breakfast. You can stay in an apartment with a balcony and mountain views for just about 80 Euros.

The staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. It's a great option if you're looking for a peaceful retreat with scenic surroundings.
